Drug Users News

Drug Users News (DUNews) is an initiative group of like-minded people who has been engaged in video advocacy since November 2015. DUNews make their videos in Russian primarily for people who use drugs, as well as for other communities vulnerable to HIV. To date, the DUNews team has released more than 60 videos that provide relevant information on key issues in drug policy, harm reduction from drug use, respect for human rights, and countering the HIV and TB epidemic in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA). DUNews are available on Youtube channel Drug Users News.

Eurasian Harm Reduction Association (EHRA) jointly with the Rights Reporter Foundation support a new socially significant DUNews project, providing financial and administrative support to the media channel.

The goal of the project is to increase the capacity of organizations of the community of people vulnerable to HIV in video advocacy to provide objective information on key issues in drug policy, harm reduction from drug use and respect for human rights in the EECA countries.

Within the framework of the project, the DUNews team implements the following activities:

1. training in the skills of video-advocacy of correspondents from the community of people vulnerable to HIV from EECA countries;

2. providing technical support to representatives of the community for the production and publication of advocacy videos;

3. production and distribution by the DUNews team of advocacy video materials in Russian on key issues in connection with drug policy and harm reduction in the region.
